This Cookie Policy explains how StayScreen uses cookies and similar browser storage on its website, administrative dashboard, and guest tablet experience. Cookies are small files a website stores in a browser. Local storage is a related browser feature used to remember a preference on a particular device.
Our server uses an HTTP-only session cookie, normally named connect.sid, to maintain account sign-in, multi-step setup, verification, checkout, security, and form state. The cookie contains a session identifier rather than the underlying account or checkout information. The session is configured to expire after up to seven days and may be renewed while the Service is used.
The ss_device_token cookie identifies an authorized StayScreen tablet after device pairing so the tablet can load the correct property experience and report operational status. It is HTTP-only, is configured for up to one year, and may be replaced when a device is paired again.
The ss_marketing_consent cookie records the choice you made in the cookie notice (“Accept” or “Decline”) so we know whether to load the optional marketing cookies described below. It does not identify your account, is set for up to 180 days, and can be changed at any time using the control below.
The cookies described above support authentication, security, checkout, device pairing, and requested preferences. Because necessary cookies support features you request, blocking them may prevent account setup, sign-in, checkout, billing, or tablet operation.
If you accept marketing cookies in the cookie notice, StayScreen loads the following tools on the marketing website to measure and improve advertising campaigns. These tools are not loaded, and do not set cookies, unless you accept.
_fbp and _fbc. Meta may associate this activity with a Facebook or Instagram account for ad measurement and delivery.Declining marketing cookies means these tools are not loaded and do not receive information about your visit; StayScreen will still work normally.
Our pages request fonts and interface assets from Google Fonts and cdnjs. Those providers receive standard request information such as IP address, browser details, referring page, and request time. StayScreen does not use those requests for advertising or behavioral profiling.
When you follow a link to a third-party service, such as Stripe-hosted Checkout or the Stripe Customer Portal, that provider may use its own cookies under its own privacy and cookie notices. Those third-party cookies are not controlled by StayScreen.
You can delete or block cookies and local storage using browser settings. Doing so may sign you out, clear an in-progress setup or checkout, cause the notice to reappear, or require a StayScreen tablet to be paired again.
StayScreen does not sell personal information for money. Declining marketing cookies, as described above, is the way to opt out of the Meta Pixel, Meta Conversions API, and Google Tag Manager on our marketing website. Our site does not currently detect and automatically apply browser-level Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals; use the cookie notice or the control above instead. If our practices change, we will update our controls and disclosures as required.
